Been home a week and a day now. Time to get my brain into gear and make a full con post. Let's see how much I remember :)
Paid for internets at the airport and discovered that my wigs had suddenly appeared. OMFG WHAT? Talk about no communication and by the sounds of it shit packing (which I discovered later was indeed shit packing and a shit Hitsugaya wig.)
Trip over was a case of omg what sleep. I got 1 hour I think. If I was lucky. Stupid 11am flight. So very glad I never sat where I originally intended because the lady I would have sat next to had a worse flight than me. For some stupid reason she'd taken the red-eye from Perth and then was going to LA and then on to NY or somewhere out that direction...she complained to the stewardess' that she felt like she was dying. That's what happens when you try to put the body through too much flying without proper sleep/water/drugs/food. Stupid.
12 hours later I arrived in LA. Never again will I go through LAX. I will pay extra to avoid it. It took forever to go get my bags scanned, not that they scanned anythign besides my carry-ons. Not even my sword though I offered it up. Long confusing queues to get into the domestic terminal were only survivable because I had two really tall, really cute guys in front of me that I chatted with...Yes I did totally slash them in my mind. Kinda wish I'd got a pic of them >.> An hour or so later I got to my gate only to find were were getting delayed for going to SF. A couple sets and we were down from a 9.45 departure to a sometime after 12pm departure. Finally after watching some Bleach and getting food and trying to stay awake we get our go ahead to leave. Not a bad flight. Nice and quick and I wish I'd been able to sleep like some. Two bounces before our landing stuck and damn shitty wet weather in SF but after those bounces I'm glad we were delayed.
Rescued from the airport by Neko. No sword. Sword was still in LA. Next time I will go with my gut decision to collect it myself. Or well next time I'll be bloody more organized and post shit like I intend. Check in at the hotel and find we're in a room whish is almost as far from the elevators as you can get. Almost because there were rooms further away. Spent some time getting organized and then the power went out. Off to Panera we went for food and interwebs followed by supply shopping. Return to the hotel and there's still no power and many pissed off people. Still no sword but I figured not to pester because they had plenty of shit happening. Glow sticks were needed as well as more supplies. Going up and down 8 flights of stairs a few time will kill your legs. Neko and I kept ourselves well entertained untill we sat down at like 1am-ish. I passed out not long after. Like within minutes.
That calculates into *hits up the world clock site*...holy shit! 38 hours on one hours sleep. That's longer than I thought. Might have to check that again to make sure it's right. Damn I knew I was loopy.
Monday started at 6.30am when the power suddenly came back on and we discovered which lights were left on. Oops. Passed back out for a few more hours. Eventually we dragged our butts out of bed and went off to grab Zalia from the airport. I think this is our most unorganized year yet for who was arriving and leaving when. I really had no idea of who to expect at what time, I only had a vague idea of the days people were getting in. Got Zalia settled in and eventually headed off to Neko and Twitchy's place. There was tasty noms at the sushi boat place and froyo was had and there were doornobs and even soem laundry got done. Zoomed back to the hotel with Zalia snoozing in the back of Neko's car.
My week can now be summed up with squee, food and no sword.
Tuesday started with Starbucks and spending $100 in See's in about 10 minutes. I pretty much knew what I wanted :) Waited at the hotel while Neko collected Dustin and Kalli and then we headed to Panera for lunch. Bloody whoever decided to redo the surface in the carpark needs their balls ripped off. Seriously stupid. It was quite the challenge to find somewhere Neko could park. Panera was had and we made much noise and used up lots of internets before heading for the first of many trips to Japantown.
I can't believe how much we crammed into this years trips. Wednesday was Chinatown where sadly I did not get my bbq pork buns, and we were found by Terri and the girls and we did Pier 39 and the aquarium where as we were leaving Terri and the girls arrived. It was like a game of tag. I got cute plushies :) Mum loves her killer whale.
Got back to the hotel and there was a Suk. Yay. Kalli decided to stay behind as Suk, Zalia and I went off to hockey while Dustin and Neko did shopping. Great game. I had so much fun. Must do that again.
Got back to the hotel late but there was a Jamie to glomp and a message from Mim. Everyone who was supposed to be there at that time had arrived safely. Another blackout, this time to replace the broken transformer properly and once again the glowsticks came out. Bed was fallen into at 2am-ish maybe.
Dragged Mim into the room Thursday before heading off to Japantown yet again. Also hit up Bath and Body Works and Old Navy and Gamestop. Or was that Tuesday we did Gamestop? So much shopping and thank you Terri for lugging my goodies back to the hotel in your car <3 LN found us in Japantown and we were complete. Nik and Chris arrived Wednesday I think. I can never pinpoint when Nik gets in ^^; All the bitches who were attending con were in SF or nearby somewhere. Sweet! It is here that it became a case of omg Gnome of the hollow legs. What can I say - I loves my food :3 Um what else did we do Thursday?
Friday was the beginning of con. That came entirely too quickly. Was down at pre-reg fairly early due to the need to be at the swap meet early to get a decent table. M-P line will now forever be Masturbation to Penis in my mind. We all did pretty good in selling off unwanted things this year at the swap meet. Better than last year I think. Byakuya spent more than he sold but I got some pics I've been wanting but unable to find so I'm happy. Checked out opening ceremonies and some of the bishie bingo with Mim before LN texted me that I needed to be in the video room to watch things. I still need to track down that amv they showed too. Mim headed up early and I eventually escourted LN back to her and Kalli's room. Day 1 was sadly over.
Squall was cosplay of choice for Saturday because I was planning on getting stuff signed by the seiyuu and didn't want to be the total fangirl and go in there dressed in Byakuya...considering Byakuya wasn't even supposed to go to this con. Hit up the dealers room first and got doujin and visited Jo Chen's table. I must email about that pic of the angel I wants from that other table too.
There really wasn't many panels I was interested in doing this year. Just the seiyuu one which ran late and the one that it made me almost miss. Still managed to drag Suk as my Seifer to the mpreg panel *grin* Still undecided if I'm glad we missed most of it. The seiyuu panel was fun. They kept taking pictures of each other and fighting over the microphone. Was cute. Sad bout the guest panels and how instead of attending automatically granting you a spot in the signing line, you got a number in a raffel that was for a spot in the line. Luckily all 3 of our tickets (Suk, Mim and myself) won and as Suk hadn't brought anything along Dustin got the extra ticket. omg Okiayu-san recognized my Squall *blushes all over* I wonder if he would have wanted a pic if I'd worn Byakuya? And Hidenobu was just...tasty >.> But I got my goodies signed and managed not to embarrass myself too much. Is it a bad thing to hope Hidenobu eventually does yaoi and gets paired with Okiayu?
Was found by Elfen whom I so didn't spend enough time with this year. But yay you made it to con *loves on*
Found Pondy and J and Blue in the fan market. Woot.
Suikoden II cosplayers made me happy too. I stalked them for pics. Do now wish I'd made Tir or Riou.
Heh I think I worried the Zack cosplayer. Suk dressed as Seifer had been with Neko I think *frowns* Who was with you, Suk? Anyways the photographer who had Zack and another cosplay with him wanted to use the walkway for pics and had asked nicely for Suk and co to let them use it. So they came back to the room. I'd been out on the balcony eyeing Zack when they were over at the elevators. Seriously from a distance you see the sword and you know who it is. So I raced over for pics. Zack had thought Squall had some to kick his butt for telling Seifer to leave XDDD That could be the birth of good crack crossover fic right there...except where Zack likely kicks Squall's butt >.>
Amvs were rather disappointing this year. Such a small amount submitted and only maybe 3 that were any good. Am now watching Reborn thanks to one amv. Didn't stay for another other events as there was sushi to be had. Off to Liquid! No green tea icecream but I did have my ginger sakitini and it was good. Stronger than the year before last but oh so good. And we gots time with Steph *smooches* Back at the hotel and some went to the auction while others just puttered about. I spotted and raced off to harrass Greed!Ling and Ed. Got to spend a smidge more time with Elfen who was with them :) Then saw flashes from my floor and discovered Zalia and Nym had changed into their sheepies cosplay. So cute. And Squall now had an Aya to drag about. There were many photos. Eventually we all fell into bed at some hour to get much needed sleep.
Sunday is a bit of a blur to me. People leaving unexpectadly early *pouts* No panels for me so I just wandered around and shopped and hung out. Oh I did have the bishie brunch to attend with Neko which while fun could have been done better. Yes I've submitted my suggestions and I got possibly one of my fave pics from con during the brunch. Didn't get the other pic that made me happy but Neko has supplied links to someone who did get a pic :3
Made new friends *snuggles Court* and inducted Mim into the bitches *rubs spanked bottom* Really when you have someone who fits straight into the group, thinks and voices the same thoughts you have before you get the chance, wriggle squees with you over bish and anime...you spank them good and claim them. Mim is now ours XD But back to the con >.> Luke had two Guys. It was a beautiful thing. We lounged in the sun out near the pool and did some crazy things and I'd love to see pics.
Helped Nik and Chris and Zalia lug stuff from the fanmarket back to their room and then gave into the Roy action figure who had been calling to me all weekend. I debated for a good 3-4 hours on buying him and raced into the dealers room with 10 minutes to spare. He is still in his box. Will dig him out eventually.
Closing ceremonies saw us kicked out of the main events room due to some stupid con startin gthe next day. Bastards. That room was ours. Still we were well entertained by the bishies singing. Bohemian Rhapsody once again became a fond con memory and I will never think of Brittany Spears song ever again without seeing bendy Reno dancing to it *leers* Wandered up to get some tickets and got entertained/distracted by the bishies. Legolas is becoming a firm fave. They are all so very nice and fun and giving of themselves to us bunch of pervs that it's hard not to love them *snicker* Mim won a raffle (signed Princess Princess manga page) and so I went and spanked Swedish on her behalf. That felt so good. And really if you're not going to spank your bishie with gusto, let Thorn spank him for our pleasure. There were seriously some pathetic spanks this year.
And then con was over :( Very late pizza was had and I was finally defeated but it. I just couldn't eat it. So we fed con goers lounging in the lobby area and retired to our rooms so Mim and Suk could pack.
People shouldn't be allowed to leave the con any earlier than Tuesday. Monday Suk left and there was posting of stuffs and then after we did one last trip to Japantown Mim left as well. There was the discovery of an awesome book that Nik currently has.
Hey Nik if they bring out a girl version I'm so planning on getting it too *nods*
Dustin, Terri, Neko, Zalia and I went and had chocolate pudding and other foods. Yes there is video of that insanity. I think I took more video than pics this year. Sure I took pics but with a couple gig in memory card space I just had to do vids. Much more fun.
Tuesday was a mad bit of a shop to get luggage and Neko's jacket which also sae me get yet more shirts ^^; Then we saw off Kalli, LN and eventually Neko who had to get home and be ready to work the next day. Zalia and I went for a walk and possibly saw LN's plane take off. There was hottub which could have been better and dinner in the bar. Got to catch the end of a Sharks game :) Terri and Steph arrived but couldn't help us pack but kept us company for a bit.
Goodbyes get harder each year and this year was particulary hard because I won't be back next year, maybe not ever again for Y-con. I'd like to do other cons and visit other places and can't do them and Y-con. Doesn't work like that. A rest from long haul flights will be a good thing...for my mind and my body.
I've probably missed things, or got things out of order. As you've seen from posts I never got my sword but we're all still hopeful that it'll turn up one day soon. If not then another shall be made. I got time.
For those who attended - thanks for a fun week and a half. It was over much too soon as it always is *butt smacks* And thank you for exposing me to the demented squirrel...
