"I'm sorry, Tsuna. I hope you didn't need to talk to my brother. Lately he always seems to be running off somewhere important right when someone wants to ask him something."

Tsuna pondered Kyoko's words, realizing that what she said was completely true but likely not how she had intended. Ever since they had returned from the future, Tsuna rarely had a chance to talk to Ryohei as he always seemed to be racing off to do something. If they were in a large group, he usually stayed but whenever Tsuna joined Kyoko and her brother or if Tsuna saw him alone and called out, Ryohei left almost immediately.

Tsuna got the feeling Ryohei was avoiding him.

Asking Reborn for advice got Tsuna the cryptic answer that he needed to bond with his Guardians. It was a little hard to bond with someone who wasn't around. Questioning Kyoko if something was going on garnered a small shake of the head and an observation that her brother was getting up earlier because she always heard him putting on laundry before going for his morning run, Hana adding in a loud voice that it was good for a man to help do chores. Tsuna left them to walk to school on their own as Hana launched into a list of what she expected her future partner to do around the house.

Tsuna thought of asking Colonnello, the arcobaleno likely Ryohei's confidant on matters he couldn't discuss with his sister and possibly able to give a hint of what was troubling Ryohei, except that no one could find him.

Reborn took pity on him after three days.

"You should just ask Ryohei what is wrong."

"But I'm obviously what's wrong or he wouldn't be avoiding me," Tsuna grumbled as he pulled on his school uniform.

"Ever thought that maybe he wants to ask you something but doesn't know how and so keeps running away while trying to figure it out?"

"Has he spoken to you?"

"It is something to be settled between Boss and Guardian." Tsuna didn't like the way Reborn was looking at him over the rim of his coffee cup, large dark eyes serious and measuring. It usually meant he was the last to find out what was going on and that Reborn fully expected he should know already.

"You do know something, Reborn. Tell me," Tsuna demanded.

"Tsuna, you have to offer him what he wants in a way that he won't be able to say no."

"Isn't that mean, to trap him like that?" Tsuna found himself asking, unwilling to do anything unkind to his friends. "Besides I have no idea what Ryohei may want from me."

"You'll figure it out," Reborn smirked. Tsuna felt he had reason to worry. "All you have to do is use this moment of weakness to your advantage. Use what you learned in the future."

"Huh? Huh, what weakness would Ryohei have? You don’t mean Kyoko. I WON'T do it."

"..." Reborn said nothing, gaze returning to that measuring look as if Tsuna should really know the answer.

"Me?" Tsuna asked, and really, Reborn wasn't looking anywhere else. "That's nonsense. I make Ryohei weak?"

"Yes and no," Reborn said, head tilting to one side in contemplation. "You make him strong too. You make them all strong. Guardian's have a weakness when it comes their boss, even the likes of Hibari Kyouya, but it is also their strength."

Tsuna watched Reborn stand, drain his coffee cup and refill it from the small carafe left on the table. In the split second he saw Reborn's knowing expression change to slightly annoyed and the next moment, Reborn kicked Tsuna out of his own room. Reborn accomplished this without spilling a drop of his precious coffee.

"Now go find out what his problem is and don't come back until you do."

Tsuna wondered if he'd ever stop getting kicked about by Reborn. Somehow, he doubted this would ever change.

Having to wait all day to track down his sun guardian wasn't easy on Tsuna but seeing as there were club activities that afternoon; he knew exactly where Ryohei would be. Dismissing Gokudera wasn't an easy task either, his second wanting to walk home with him as they did most days. Saying he was needing to do some errands wasn't exactly a lie but then he didn't consider talking to Ryohei an errand but a necessity.

With Gokudera gone, Tsuna made his way to where the boxing club met and proceeded to spend the next fifteen minutes standing outside listening to everything going on. He could hear weights clinking as they were used, the whipping thump of a skipping rope and squeaking movements of feet on the ring mat. There was no telling if it was Ryohei in the ring, his voice so loud that he seemed to be everywhere.

Sighing softly, Tsuna lifted a hand to open the door only to let it drop back to his side.

"Standing out here staring at the door won’t get things solved.”

"Gah, can you not do that?! You're as bad as Reborn," Tsuna quickly dropped his voice to a whisper after his startled yelp, almost sounding as if he was scolding Colonello for sneaking up on him.

"Ryohei is probably just worried he's gonna hurt you," Colonello announced with a fond smile at the thought of his student, seemingly ignoring Tsuna's words with an unconcerned shrug. Colonello's smile turned wicked as he slanted his blue eyes in Tsuna's direction. "I'm sure you can work your way around that."

"Huh?"

For the second time that day Tsuna found himself getting kicked and as he staggered through the door he was convinced there was a sign on his back that only the arcobaleno could see that said 'please kick me'.

"Tsuna! Back for a rematch with Ryohei?" the student who stopped his fall into the room asked, grinning in anticipation of a good match.

"Wouldn’t I have had to have actually finished the fight for another to be considered a rematch?” Tsuna asked, straightening up and looking around. Ryohei was in the ring.

"True," the other agreed, a hard look in his eyes as if remembering how the karate club interrupted the match. "How about taking up where you left off then?" he asked.

"Ah, no thanks," Tsuna said as politely as possible. He really wasn't here to fight.

"Oh, shame that. It would have been good to see that match finished. So what brings you here?"

"Mind if I watch?"

"I guess it's okay, I'll just check. Ryohei, Tsuna wants to watch," the student called out.

"THAT WOULD BE EXTREMELY GOOD," Ryohei replied, not taking his concentration from his opponent as he dodged few quick jabs to his head and countered. "HONORED TO HAVE YOU HERE TSUNA."

"I...I'll just sit over here."

Tsuna sat against the wall for an hour, watching as Ryohei briefly took on each student in the club, happily giving pointers on how to improve, never ever using his full strength. Watched as the younger students had short bouts against together, Ryohei’s loud voice and back his focus rather than what was going on in the ring and exactly what words were being said. Tsuna left Ryohei to finish cleaning up while everyone else hit the showers, quietly grabbing one of the others and borrowing a spare set of gloves and shorts. Thankfully they didn't question him and left, the calls of 'goodbye' and 'see you tomorrow' of those departing echoing in the nearly empty room.

Ryohei had been about to close the blinds when Tsuna swallowed the dying will pill he'd hidden under his tongue earlier while his hands were ungloved. Tsuna knew he felt the change by the way he paused, as if listening to the power emanenating from Tsuna before he turned to face him. He stood next to the boxing ring, patiently waiting for Ryohei to decide if he would settle whatever the problem was now or continue to run away. Tsuna couldn't see Ryohei's face properly, the late afternoon sun streaming in through the windows casting it in shadow, highlighting the breadth of his shoulders, bathing muscled arms in warm sunlight. When his sun guardian picked up his gloves and approached, Tsuna climbed up into the ring.

The fight didn't last long at all, Ryohei's distraction obvious from the moment he looked at the flickering flame and then down into Tsuna's calm eyes and glanced away as he smacked his gloves together. That isn't to say that Tsuna didn't receive a few blows, giving as good as he got, Ryohei's increased speed reminding Tsuna of the older Ryohei but he could see that this Ryohei's heart wasn't in it. Stopping dead still when Ryohei wasn't expecting it, they both grunted as they hit the mat, tangled legs tripping them over. Tsuna stared up at Ryohei as he quickly pushed his body on all fours above Tsuna, sweat damp spiky hair brushing Tsuna's jaw as Ryohei rested his head on Tsuna's chest. That hard body pressed to his for the briefest moment, a ghost touch of heat and varying degrees of weight and hardness of Ryohei’s body lingering still. He knew what he'd felt.

How Reborn had figured it would come to this, Tsuna never wanted to find out.

"Ever wondered if knowing too much is a bad thing?" Ryohei finally asked, voice subdued like when they'd talked about how he'd gotten his scar. "How you might change your actions to avoid something that's going to happen?"

"Do you truly want to avoid it?"

"I...I don't know," Ryohei murmured, sounding so unsure of himself. "I've never really thought of anything outside of boxing." He drew back and looked Tsuna fully in the eyes, Tsuna's heart clenching for a moment at how hesitant they were. "But what if I do something extremely wrong though and what I saw doesn't happen even though I might want it to?"

"Things that are supposed to be will occur. They might take a different path getting there but I'd like to think some things are unchangeable. The good ones, anyways." Tsuna rested a hand against Ryohei's shoulder. "I'll do everything I can to stop the bad ones from happening," he promised. Including becoming the tenth Vongola boss to protect my friends. "Perhaps it would be best to not worry about it too much for now?"

"Yeah. Yeah, you're right," Ryohei said, getting to his feet with a bounce in his step and helping Tsuna up. "Thanks Tsuna!"

Tsuna watched with a grin as Ryohei loosened one of his gloves and pulled it off with his teeth before working on the knots holding Tsuna's gloves in place.

"It's getting late," Ryohei said and they glanced at the windows together. "We should head home, Tsuna. I'll finish locking up while you hit the showers. Spare towel in my locker."

Doing as instructed, Tsuna went to the change rooms and opened Ryohei’s locker. He smiled at the photo of Ryohei and Kyoko, so much younger than they were now, Ryohei's face unscarred as he grinned up at the camera.

He almost didn't hear Ryohei come up behind him but the heat of that chest against his back was unmistakable as a hand free of its usual bandages wrapped about his shoulder, the bandages fluttering to the floor beside him.

"There are photos of us in the future."

"Of Kyoko?"

"No, Tsuna," Ryohei sighed softly into his hair, Tsuna not minding the chin resting on his head. "Well, yes of course there's pictures of me and my sister and of me with Ha...um...with someone. I saw them when I visited my room. Behind this picture of me and...someone...there's pictures of you and me."

"Just us?"

"There's some other pictures with the guys, even some of the Varia. But..."

"You didn't like them?"

"I...I wanted to keep them."

"We can take photos of us together if you like," Tsuna offered.

"Not like these. We...We weren't even aware these were taken. We were asleep."

"That's not so bad."

"Together, Tsuna. Naked and sleeping together."

"Oh...And you wanted to keep the photos?"

"Yeah."

"Maybe they'll get taken again?"

He could feel Ryohei's breath catch as what he'd said registered. The arm tightened and Ryohei's other hand came to rest on his hip.

"Tsuna...you're not going to run away? What I want to do to you. With you..."

Reaching up into Ryohei's locker, Tsuna retrieved the Vongola ring of the sun guardian, chain falling across the back of his hand. Turning slowly, he looked up into his sun guardian's disbelieving eyes, smiling when they widened as Ryohei realized he was still in dying-will mode.

"Why would I run from my friends?" he asked, fastening the chain around Ryohei's neck, fingers lingering when the ring resting on Ryohei's chest.

There was no holding Ryohei back and if Tsuna had wanted to then he wouldn't be holding onto the dying-will like he was, knowing that it would tell Ryohei that he shouldn’t hold back at all. The kiss was sloppy, uncoordinated, too much teeth but they were teenage boys, caught up in the hormones that drove them to distraction.

He didn't argue when strong hands picked him up, following the natural inclination to wrap his legs about Ryohei’s waist as his back pressed against a cold locker door, the grip on his ass likely going to leave bruises but it didn’t matter. Ryohei was doing something with his tongue that made it hard to concentrate. It was a bit of a surprise then to be carried somewhere, Tsuna expecting to be laid out on a bench. Instead light and shadow played across his closed eyes, the echo of dripping water telling him where they were going.

It made the suddenness of being under a hot shower less of a shock.

Tsuna held on and made use of his teeth on Ryohei's neck as Ryohei turned on the taps closest to them, filling the shower room with steam that glowed shades of golden orange in the sunset that filtered in through frosted windows high up on the wall.

Then Ryohei's mouth was back on his, tasting, claiming, biting, distracting. Tsuna couldn't recall when his sodden shorts were removed, only remembered the bite to his neck that became a loud groan on his skin as he was lifted back up and their naked cocks rubbed against one another. There was a discomforting intrusion and Ryohei muttering 'relax' as slick warm fingers were pressed into him and he didn't have enough outside awareness to wonder what the slickness was or where it came from. He could feel Ryohei's cock rubbing against his, the fabric from Ryohei's shorts pushed down just enough to get it free likely leaving marks on both their skin.

Tsuna groaned as the fingers disappeared, giving him a brief moment to wonder how Ryohei knew what to do and then Ryohei was pressing into him, thick and hot. He tried to swallow the whimper, hoping the showers would drown it out but he still felt his sun guardian still at the noise.

"Don't...stop. Don't..."

He worried briefly at the drawn out pause but the nod against his cheek and the stuttering breath at his ear told him Ryohei wasn't about to go anywhere, had understood the broken command for what it was. He did cry out as Ryohei sharply snapped his hips upwards, completing his entry in one quick movement. The pause was longer this time and the tenseness in Ryohei's posture wasn't about hurting but holding back and waiting for the go-ahead. Tsuna could feel the tiny rocking movements each time Ryohei's cock twitched inside him.

"Do it," he ordered quietly.

"Huh?" Ryohei asked, looking up and Tsuna marveled at the restraint he saw there. But it wasn't Ryohei's restraint he wanted right now. "Tsuna..."

"You heard me," he said, tightening his legs, tightening himself around all of Ryohei that he touched, which touched him.

It was a slow movement to begin with; both of them shuddering as Ryohei withdrew and thrust back in, finding his rhythm, testing the limits of how hard Tsuna could take it.

With a dying will of the sky, there was no limit. Not when your guardians that were involved.

Tsuna could only hold on, arms wrapped about strong shoulders as Ryohei hooked his arms under Tsuna's legs and tightly gripped his hips, pulling them down each time he thrust upwards. Hard, hot and fast, Ryohei putting everything he was into each movement and Tsuna took it all in, barely able to make a noise beyond incoherent gasps of pleasure. Neither of them were going to last long, not when Tsuna could feel release creeping up on him as it did in the mornings, blindsiding him into wakefulness. He decided to hurry it along, dropping a hand to stoke his cock, the other burying itself in Ryohei’s wet hair to hold him close. Head resting back against the tiled wall behind his shoulders, Tsuna stared unseeing at the steam-shrouded room, gasping in moist air as he spurted his release over his hand, himself and over Ryohei. He heard a shout but it was distant even as it echoed loudly in the room.

It was then that he noticed that Ryohei wasn't moving, hips tightly flush against his ass, no long a throbbing hardness inside him but a liquid heat that made his toes curl with the knowledge that Ryohei hadn't held back at all. As his hips also told him as they slid down the wall together, Ryohei's knees hitting the tiled floor hard enough that Tsuna slipped off his lap entirely. They sat the for a long moment, Ryohei kneeling between Tsuna's bent knees, head resting on his shoulder as Tsuna stroked his hand over the back of his guardian's neck, the only connection between them after everything they'd just done. Ryohei's shaking shoulders and panting breath slowed, soothed by Tsuna’s touch.

All at once, Ryohei seemed to come back to himself and Tsuna smiled in welcome.

"Tsuna...pink...the water's PINK."

Grabbing Ryohei's jaw, Tsuna forced him to look up and away from the evidence of their coupling. "It's fine. I wanted this."

"But..."

"Heal me."

Smiling as Ryohei caught on, Tsuna sat still and let Ryohei work. It was a good thing too as he had a feeling that without Ryohei's now excessively gentle touch he wouldn't be walking out of here, or anywhere for the next day or two.

"How...how does it feel?" Ryohei asked as Tsuna let him pull him to his feet, taking the offered soap to wash his skin.

"Feels fine. Better than fine. You even took away the bruises I had from being kicked by Reborn."

"Eh...I wasn't supposed to?"

Tsuna shrugged and turned his shower off as Ryohei got the others. The glow of sunset was almost gone, casting half the room in shadow. Ryohei waited for him half in and half out of one of those few remaining patches of light and Tsuna wondered what he would look like in the morning, hair colored by dawn, skin bathed in sunrise.

He already knew thanks to a photo they'd both seen.

"My mom's going away next weekend to visit some friends. Want to stay over?"

He knew where that photo of them had been snapped. A good idea of when as well, but not by who although he had suspicions. He guessed they would find that out in the coming weeks.
