So Jo, whom some may remember from Y-con last year (the lass with the kiwi accent and the panda plush with the huge penis) posted a warning about a not so little site called Spokeo - it's an online phone book that has pictures that you have posted on facebook, home phone number, credit score, profession, home value, income , # of kids, profession, age, etc. Click on your name to pull up your page. (from Jo's post linked here.) I went and entered in names that are in my addy book. I found Suk and Terri. Bit of a worry really to have a site like that kicking about the internets. Looks like it only covers the US so I'm not there as a person but I popped in my email addy and it told me I'm in Sydney (that's here my internet server main base is) and that I'm visible on one networking site.

Have been distracted tonight by suikdoen pics. Started out as hunting down a copy of that Culgan/Seed pic online, of which I'm really sure I have the best scan of, and ended up as me clicking links off to japanese fansites and saving pics. So many pretty pics. It makes me want to play Tierkreis again.

Busy day at work tomorrow and then going off to see iron man 2 friday evening. Saturday I'm expecting a visit from Jess so we can raid my music for her to have something to listen to while in her room and then back to work Sunday. Got a doc appointment in the morning too so we will see how the blood is doing this week.

For now though I would just like a good night sleep. Everyone deserves a good night sleep *drags all off to shower and then to bed* <3

I show up on there, but all my info is wrong (address, gender, several other major categories), so it's not too bad. Weird, I suppose, but no worse than what can be found searching for my property taxes and such.

All of my e-mails show that I'm in Texas. ^^;;

Some people are way off with what's listed other's are very on the ball with what's up there. Mine personally was way off, but other family I found on there were frighteningly accurate. In the case of my Dad, the only bit of personal info missing was his social security number. =/

It shows me. In Elko. Not Bellingham. If you search for my E-mail, it finds me much better.

But like Kalli, said, most of it is wrong or out of date. I'm not too worried.

If you're listed wrong, like I was, you're in good shape...however I found very accurate listings for other members of my family...including a teenage nephew...that were scary creepy.

*grumble* Seriously, why do these sites keep popping up?! Is there anyone who actually wants to be found this way? Meanwhile, I'm certain some people are getting screwed by their information being posted like that. As others have said, several bits of my bio are wrong depending on what is entered, so I'm not worried per se, but I'm still getting very frustrated about my information being put out there. Thank you SO very much for telling the world that I'm a single female living all by myself in an expensive home (it can't decide between $200,000 and $1 million, nice range there). And some people wonder why I have an alarm system and keep it on.

There's speculation that the main target for the site is to get hold of active emails for spam purposes when people try to get their information removed from the site.
