am debating getting a new laptop. i'm sick of this one with it's non-working wireless for no apparent reason at all. plus i keep filling it up too quickly.

recommendations? am thinking of going for a toshiba this time rather than a compaq.

I think this one is pretty. I would name it Diablos for sure :)

thing is the screen is only 13.5 inches. my current one is 17 i think. actually upon measuring it up, my screen is only like 14.1 or something. maybe diablos will be mine after all >.>

Ooh, Diablos. I approve. XD It is a pretty machine. But ouch, going from a 17" to such a small screen will probably drive you batty. D: I have a 15" and I don't think I could make that drop.

I can't really help out with other recs really as I only know about Macs. >.> But good luck in your decision!

Also have to say that I love your icon. <3

I saw the red and black and that's immediately what I thought of. Also so one with a red stripe detail around the edge and though of Reno.

It would be a huge stepdown size wise but it'd be perfect for travelling overseas with and the battery life is apparently like 9 hours or something. That's huge.

Icon is great for when your brain is all KEYMASH but you don't want to keymash XD

i decided to take a measuring tape to my lappy and my screen is only just over 14 inches. i may get diablos yet cos seriously huge battery life and that uber pretty red needs to be owned.

i think i also need a ff8 diablos icon now :D

That's not too much of a difference, then. ^^ Enjoy your new baby when you get him!

I have a Satellite A500 (named Deusericus) and I personally love it. I know it is a great deal pricier though than the model you're looking at but that's because mine basically functions as a desktop I can move around. I must say that after putting up with a Dell Latitude for several years, this has been so much better.

That is pretty and a fitting name :) Pretty is your icon too. And you're right about being a little above what I'd like to spend. Slightly different keyboard setup will be interesting. Having the mousepad off to one side will take some getting used to I think.

I stayed away from names like Dell and Acer. Just couldn't bring myself to buy them.

I'm debating between the A500/02J and the L500/01U on the local Officeworks website. They've got a bit of a clearance sale going on which is always tempting.

Have you ever had trouble with the wireless network working, as in it not showing up on your computer although you might be right next to the router?
