This is nothing personal, just a bit of end of year cleaning. I'm doing a flist cut and find myself deleting quite a few names off my list.

As I said, nothing personal...It's just that I'm finding you've not posted in ages, I'm following you at IJ, you've not commented in my LJ in quite some time or our interests have changed and I'm skimming your posts more than reading them. Feel free to unfriend me back and no hard feelings. I wish you all well in your journey through life. Safe travels and good karma be with you.

Will also be tweaking my chat list as I don't recognize half the names here anymore and am guessing they were from my RP days. Do I even remember how to access half my chat sigs anymore *scratches head*

It needed to be done and I hope no one holds it against me for dropping them. I was quite surprised as to how many hadn't commented recently, some in well over a year. Interests do change over the course of time I guess. Plus I've not posted much in the way of fic recently which could be why people didn't comment but then why be on the friends list if you're not going to interact in RL orientated posts? I have my core group of friends and a few others and fandom specific only friends. I think that's plenty enough for how my life is going now.

For IM I still have Trillian and so everything show up on that, including 'orphaned' names because I've not logged into that particular chat program. I've been using my chat logs to delete based on how long ago we talked or the reason. Most of the old rp ones are gone.

I'm glad your card arrived safe. I wrote a drabble last year too but never worked up the courage to send a card after all that happened. You wouldn't have seen it as that post is under flist lock.

FF8 - Secret Santa was something Zell dreaded each year, the gifts coming from it good, bad and sometimes totally outrageous. Patiently Zell waited to see who would give him a gift this year. What he hadn’t expected was Seifer on his bed, bow wrapped around his hands and looking slightly groggy. When told he had Squall to thank for the thoughtful gift, Zell laughed. He didn’t untie his present for a long time. However he did happily unwrap it.

Don't stress if it takes a while to get a card in my direction, it'll be an extra surprise when it arrives. Money is going to be tight for everything I think and it's the thought that counts most. Next year might end up being cards via email. True there's nothing quite like getting snail mail but least email will be on time. Hopefully ;)

If they get upset or hold it against you, then well, i could say a whole bunch of things in regards to it... but it's their issue if they can't understand as to why you did it. you stated your reasoning.

you have a fic journal don't you? if they're here to read the fics you wrote, then maybe they should look to that journal?

i know there are people who read but don't comment on mine. they usually IM me and we talk about things there.mind you, sometimes its nice to wake to an inbox with messages!

i usually have the luck of, if i delete the person from my IM, they end up coming back a day later and talking to me. and then end up talking to me for a few days. *sighs*

*little smile* i usually don't have courage to do things at times, but i do it, usually to let the person know i still care or that they're in my thoughts.

that is an awesome drabble! thank you.

I'd rather have a thoughtful gift than one that might be pricy and thoughtless.
e-cards would be quicker and less stress on the post offices!

I think I actually deleted my fic journal during strikethrough but I never really posted to it anyways when it was just easier to have everything in the one journal. Might still have my old rp ones though. Should go check that.

Best one is when you've had them on your chat login for so long and not chatted that you can't remember who they are and have to ask 'who the hell are you'. Is much hilarious. But then you also have to explain that you've changed interests or are not in the rp anymore and thus don't really want to chat with anyone friended just for the rp or such. Using Trillian make s things even more confusing as I rename everyone on my list so I recognize who they are. Then when I delete them and they pop up with their original sig, I have no clue at all.

E-cards and gift vouchers are wonderful things. You don't have to worry about the gift being a dud and know the person in question will find some use for the extra cash.

that is true. I've been trying to get all my stuff into one journal for writing and what not. both on lj and on ij.
i need to make sure that my journalfen is with all the same stuff too.

that happened to me the other day! someone popped up and was all "who are you? how do i know you?" i have a chuckle and make the comment of "probably LJ then tell them they can delete me"

i tried using trillian, and i think i would have liked it more if i could put all my accounts onto it. i can do that with meebo. but i don't like it as much as its not a stand alone like trillian is.

*nods* the gift vouchers and certificates are awesome! i sometimes think that they're impersonal at times, but when a person is further away, they're good.
