I've been a total bum this weekend and it is reflected in the weight gain. Spent the whole weekend eating junk and generally enjoying it until I ate little too much chocolate and got a wee headache :( I'm really sucking right now at the losing weight thing. Perhaps time to keep a food log or something. Or leave my purse at home when I go to work.
Was much disappointed by the medieval festival this Saturday. Took barely any photos compared to last year. I think I would have enjoyed it more without the girls in tow. Was cranky and stressed pretty much the moment I arrived starting actually when mum took a different turnoff than on the map. We still got there by following the signs. Got sunburnt because the joust seats were facing the sun -_- Will so be writing a suggestion about that seeing as it's my face dammit. And didn't get to see all the riders because they had three separate sessions, like two rounds and a final round type thing. Actually came home with money too which means that I didn't itch to spend it all. Did pick up a bottle of mead and some lovely port...not cheap but damn tasty. If...and I mean if...we go next year will not be taking the girls at all. It's very hard to look in stalls when they're right at your elbow or to taste wines and the like when they are standing there watching everything going on. The museum was quite neat, small, but they had some lovely stuff in there. Of course I went backwards through everything and there was a lady in there playing a lute. Most soothing.
I even got called mum by a stall holder trying to talk me into adding toppings to some food we got. Err no, I'm the aunt and that is there nan...no mum here today. I think the attitude of that first serving lady really helped put a dull look on the day.
Got home and did the gaming thing. Heh this was much more entertaining.
So running about he castle seeing as omg it levelled up and look at all the rooms and ooooh what is out this direction now that the water level had gone down. 'Skriiiiieeeeeee'. OMFG it's the giant snake and I've only got two characters in my group I'm gonna DIE! Noes and I don't think I saved since before the last two/three/four battles and characters I've just picked up will be a bitch to get again. Three rounds later and snake is defeated and part of the team. Seriously the conversation between me and mum was much amusing cos I'm on the bed going 'i'm gonna die' and giving mum and rundown on the snake in the lake and then I'm all oh i beat it and it's now joined my team. Overpowered Hero & Lyon ftw!
Did spend some time yesterday going through my wardrobe and my suitcases under the bed cleaning out stuff. I have a couple items of clothing that are my 'goal' for the weight loss I'm supposed to be doing and a new pile of ragbag stuff and a couple small bags of things to go to the red cross or whoever ends up with it. I need to stop buying stuff and then not wearing it.
Time to get my butt off the compy and get on with my day. I'm feeling rather out of touch with everything and everyone but although I may not comment I am definitely reading. Will get to replies for stuff eventually *hugs all* ♥

Sorry that the fair wasn't as much fun this year. It sounds like it does change when you have the youngsters around. ;) But hey, at least you got some good spirits.
*laugh* I think we've all had those 'oh fucking shit' moments while gaming, though I usually die a terrible death and not touch the game for a week because I'm too frustrated to do all of that leveling up again. Congrats on getting through it and providing entertainment for your mom. ;)

I think highlight of the fair was running into an old friend. She's living locally again but I doubt I'll hang with her much. I just don't connect with people much anymore that aren't into fandom and games. There's simply nothing to talk about if that makes sense. I may just be becoming boring.
I was so waiting to die and then I totally kicked ass. Was a pleasant surprise. I need to remember to read ahead in playguides so this kind of surprise doesn't happen again ^^;

It's always fun to run into random people you've known in the past. I do that randomly at Starbucks with people from school or my previous job. It's kind of funny. But yeah, I don't have many friends for that reason. Even in the online world, I mostly talk with you. The other online folks I chat with the most aren't even con goers. ;)
